We rode the bus from Keswick to Buttermere – a lovely 1 hour bus ride over Honister Pass. The 4 mile walk around the lake was easy, beautiful and very popular.

We stopped at the Syke Farm in Buttermere for lunch – soup and tea/latte. The place is known for its homemade ice cream, we didn’t try it, but walkers were lined up to buy it. We hopped back on the bus and continued back to Keswick.

The party’s over! Tomorrow we get the bus from Keswick to Penrith; then a train from Penrith to London’s Euston Train Station; then the Tube to Victoria Train Station; and then another train to Gatwick Airport. We are staying overnight in a hotel at Gatwick North Terminal so we can catch our flight the next morning.
