Whale sightings off the port side of ferry. Did see a whale’s tail and lots of spouting whales.

Big cruise ships can’t arrive in Sitka through the narrows – they’re too big. Our ferry is the largest that can come that way.

2.5 hours in Sitka, we didn’t go into town, 7 miles away, took short walk, reboarded, packed up so we’re ready to get off at 4:15 am. That’s early.
