Cuas to Cloghane

Took the 7 mile route, uphill climb through a pass, downhill through a glacier created valley and by lakes left behind by the glacier. Long climb up and extremely windy on the top. The clouds were low and flying by.

We didn’t see another hiker today. We had the trail to ourselves and the sheep,

Started with a style but we were able to use the gate
Low clouds
The start was easy enough
Today we followed the blue man
Started climbing
Looking back from where we started today
The trail
Still uphill
Sharing the trail
Finally at the top looking down at lakes
Glacier created lakes
The descent
Time out
We had to climb over the locked gates
Another day to watch where we stepped
Not much of a trail
Another locked gate
Final stretch was on a minor road
Peat bricks drying
Nearing the end
The coast in our stopping town

Tomorrow Cloghane to Scraggane Pier, about 10 miles of which 6.5 miles is on the sand – the longest beach along the wild Atlantic Way.
