We managed to make a 15.8 mile day into a 16.5 mile day – oops we made a wrong turn.
Sunny and chilly to start off, in the 40s.

Railings had the shell, symbol of the Camino. This is entering the town of Bolibar, the hometown of Simon Bolivar after whom Bolivia is named.

Today we passed through several towns, nice opportunities to stop

We passed by monastery with beautiful cloisters

Much needed coffee and tea stop, we may have been half way

Some long uphills

Beautiful scenery

Always nice to see markers, we’re going the right way, especially after our mistake earlier today

Final descent into Gernika

Walked around town a bit, saw the famous Basque Oak Tree where representatives from neighboring towns met to debate problems and make decisions.

Tomorrow, walking around Bilbao and laundry.
