San Sebastián

Nice 5.5 hour train ride, Spanish rail does a nice job. San Sebastián weather is overcast skies, a tad chilly, windy and sprinkling. Better weather tomorrow. San Sebastián is a beautiful city, we’re in ‘old town’.

Time for pintxos, known as tapas in Madrid. We checked out a bunch of pintxos bars and ended up at

It was one busy place. Lined up 3 deep at the bar. Well worth it. We tried 3 different pintxos and split a caña (small beer).

The tuna with anchovies and pepper was great.

The bread, jamoń (ham) and mushroom tower was also tasty.

And the bread, goat cheese and nuts mini stack drizzled in a balsamic reduction was very good. It’s the one one the right side of the plate in the pix below. We didn’t try the egg one!

Nor this one.

They had at least 20 different ones to try. There’s always tomorrow and every joint has different ones. Makes a fun dinner.

Tomorrow we’ll walk around San Sebastián and head back to the coffee shop.

Good news, there are a couple of laundromats in town, we’re saving that fun for Monday.
