Left New York’s JFK on Tuesday at 7:30 pm and got to Madrid Wednesday at 8:00 am. Steady rain most of the morning then pouring  in the afternoon.

Rode the Yellow Airport bus to central Madrid, walked to Hostal Gonzalo and dropped off our bags.

Next was a stop for breakfast – tortilla española , a cafė con Leche for me and a tė for Marilyn. We had some accomplishments – found the Vodafone Store and purchased a SIM card for our travel phone, we now have 60 minutes with 30 days of service; located the Swatch Store and had a free battery put in my Swatch Watch.

We had an early dinner at one of Michelle Obama’s favorite cafes.

Good day even in the rain. Tomorrow, if it’s not raining we will wait in line to buy tickets for the Prado; if it’s raining we will go to the Reina Sofia Museum ( shorter line).
