Wicked Headwinds

It’s true, walking Hadrian’s Wall from east to west means more headwind. Windy day and lots of down branches but not a lot of rain. When it was raining, it was at a 45 degree angle.

We set off at 9:15, windy but no rain. Awesome sections of the Wall.

3 o’clock we came along the Reading Room Cafe, the best latte so far. Great cafe, wish we would have had more time to spend there.

We arrived at our stopping town, Newtown, at 4:00 PM. We were transported to our hotel in Brampton. We checked in and the boots came off, and we finally ate our packed lunch (called it dinner). Tuna sandwich for Mare and ham and tomato for me.

Our hotel, Scotch Arms Mews.

Tomorrow, we walk from Newtown to Carlisle, and it’s our last day of walking on the Hadrian’s Wall Path.
