Cruising the North Sea

Leisure day. Took an early (10:15 AM) boat tour of the Farne Islands, home to thousands of breeding sea birds, puffins, eider ducks etc, and seals.

We chose a wonderful company to go with, seas were calm and we saw lots of wildlife.

Bamburgh Castle in the distance.

Pele Tower from the 1500s where fires were lit to warn ships of the rocks.

After our one and half hour cruise, it was time for lunch and a cold one at the Ship Inn

Later it was time for afternoon tea

The boots had a day off

Tomorrow, back to the path, following the coastline to Embleton.
